About the Project

SENSEE aims to develop STEM skills and competences combined with an entrepreneurial mindset of 6 -12 years old students, who have fewer opportunities to learning, and to promote their increased participation in non-formal learning activities that combine STEM/Entrepreneurial experiences. It also aims to offer support to teachers and trainers on how to promote the development of STEM/Entrepreneurial competences for students, especially for those who belong to disadvantaged groups.

Objectives

The objectives of SENSEE will be achieved through a pedagogical framework for non-formal STEM/Entrepreneurship Education, an innovative STEM/Entrepreneurship toolkit with non-formal learning activities, a modular training program for educators for the facilitation of the toolkit implementation, and by pilot testing and disseminating the SENSEE outcomes.

 

The project’s main objectives (O) are:

 

  • O1: Make STEM/Entrepreneurship topics accessible to 6-12-years-old students with fewer opportunities to learn and promote their increased participation in non-formal learning activities that combine STEM/Entrepreneurial experiences.

  • O2: Develop 6-12-years-old students’ STEM skills and competencies combined with an entrepreneurial attitude, mindset, behaviour, and intention.

  • O3: Raise awareness among teachers, educators, and trainers for the interplay between STEM/Entrepreneurial mindset and offer support to them on how to promote the development of STEM/Entrepreneurial skills and competencies for students, especially those with fewer opportunities to learn.

  • O4: Encourage sharing of experiences from all the partners across Europe to identify best practices for the incorporation of ideas related to STEM/Entrepreneurship in non-formal learning contexts.

  • O5: Facilitate the widespread dissemination and sustainability of resources and innovative pedagogical approaches to the wider EU community and internationally.

Innovation & Impact


Elements of innovation:
This project combines STEM/Entrepreneurship education to address the basic skills, soft skills and core competencies of disadvantaged students. The project aims to address inclusion and diversity by developing activities that address students (6-12 years old)  their families, and teachers, from disadvantaged groups.

Excepted impact:

(i) Increased opportunities for students to engage in STEM/Entrepreneurship education, through a variety of learning approaches.

(ii) New teaching approaches that combine STEM/Entrepreneurship topics, targeting a 6-12-year-old student population, especially students from displaced and disadvantaged groups.

(iii) New learning approach towards the cultivation of STEM/Entrepreneurship skills of 6–12-years-old students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
